Math 30-2 Relations and Functions

General Outcome: Develop algebraic and graphical reasoning through the study of relations.

 

Specific Outcome: It is expected that students will represent data, using sinusoidal functions, to solve problems.

Math 30-1 Trigonometry

General Outcome: Develop trigonometric reasoning.

 

Specific Outcome: Graph and analyze the trigonometric functions sine, cosine and tangent to solve problems.

​

When students perform sinusoidal regressions for tide charts using Desmos, they are developing both algebraic and graphical reasoning of sinusoidal functions.  They must understand the parameters required to accurately represent the data in order to solve problems.
